    Sorry, too hard to read.

Ever hear of a period, comma, paragraph, or anything resembling those concepts?

Sure, some of the milk haulers I work with put in about 44 hours and bring home 1200 a week.

    That's what I'm talking about!

It can be done, if you are lucky enough to land a job like that.

I know they won't pass that. It was said tongue-in-cheek BUT ... it's really not that much less for many drivers. Figure ... eight hours and you're home every night and within perhaps minutes, or a half hour when you're done with your shift. Not risking your life, not risking your career or CDL and not having the responsibility for slightly less than what many are making now. Those milk haulers pulling in $1200 are the exception, not the norm. Average truck driver salary as of last year in U.S. was $49K and I promise you those drivers are working an average much higher than 40 hours and the majority are NOT home every night. At the 70 hour mark, you'd be at $600 for the 40 hours and another $235 for the overtime. Now you're at $835 for the work week. http://www.businessinsider.com/big-macs-cost-if-mcdonalds-doubled-pay-2013-7

no I dont double that pay with 40 hours....im making up to $1200 a week working about 55-60 hours

I dont always look at the hours spent to make the money, I look at the final amount I was able to make even if it took more hours.

Either way I dont see burger flippers making $15 a hour soon.

maybe I should get my tanker endorsement and go haul milk if they pay that well. Also I highly doubt you will see that overtime at mcdonalds....

I will say what I make is comparable for what other fuel haulers make and I don't work anywhere near 70 hours a week and I'm home these days every night unless I want to run otr where I can make even more doing other types of runs. By all means, go get your tanker endorsement. You'll make more.

Three days? I'm sure you know this and your trainer us probsbly a very see mart fellow, bbut ill ask anyway. Has your trainer taught you to manage your loads and is he doing that? In other words, you know when you leave a shipper approx time and day thst you will arrive after you plan your trip, so into the trip you should be getting the next load assignment before you drop the first one. Are you guys dropping and then looking for a load? I try to always have at least one pre plan waiting, more if I can get them. You just have to plan your loads . You have to make sure all your times are updated on the qualcomm, before you drop or the office won't know w.t.f. is going on and not pre plan you. Qualcomm message and call night load planners as well, a lot of times they can get a load on you. Hope this helps a little bit. I've never worked for swift but I'm sure they have a workflow style system for you to use.

Still, you're talking about $20 per hour vs. $15.

    With the drawbacks of trucking.
    The home time with family.
    The expenses of OTR living.
    The danger.
The threat of losing a career because a stupid 4-wheelie cuts in front of you and suddenly slows, causing an accident...
    Any number of things.
