Hello Everyone,
I'm very new to the trucking business. My husband was an owner-operator and recently got into a truck accident and passed away. I've been trying to figure out insurance stuff but getting the run around. I'm hoping to get some great advice from everyone.
Thankyou,
I'm a trucker widow

I'm sorry for your loss. Its tough...I know. Don't sign anything or make any statements of any kind unless you are 100% sure they cant be used against you. You need to be very careful at this time...I would highly suggest a knowledgeable and experienced lawyer for your protection. Good luck.
Lilbit Thanks this. -
I've contacted numerous attorneys in Louisiana about my husband's death. They are saying that because the coroner said he died of natural death and not the accident, he won't get Occupational Accident insurance. He doesn't qualify for Workman's Comp because he was an Owner/Operator. I disagree with Greatwide because my husband drove a route as a favor for them. Greatwide rented the truck from Ryder, so my husband should have fallen under Greatwide as an employee. The rental insurance for the rental truck is a whole other problem. Neither Greatwide or Ryder will tell me who insured the vehicle and whether it covered bodily injury.
I'm so stressed out and i've been fighting all of this for about 4 months since his death. I'm so tired.
