zwt1990, you've got a good attitude and a good idea here. If I were out of training I'd really consider helping out someone like you for week or two, to get a feel for the road life. Just keep asking around here. You may just find an O/O or a company driver with a passenger policy that will help you out, especially since you mentioned covering the costs.

But it sounds like you've already got your mind up. Being on the road is not that different from what you already know about it. It sounds like you're going to enjoy it, and just traveling around with someone for awhile won't do anything but increase your determination. After reading TTR I've taken to trucking like a duck to water.

Good luck and keep us informed.

I rode with my good friend before I ever got my license for a couple weeks. We team now. Honestly, unless you know someone I doubt you'll find someone to do it.

Theres a lot of drivers who do vblogs on youtube if you want an idea of what trucking is like. It takes a lot less time than getting on a truck with a stranger. Maybe a bit safer too, all types out there, you know.
