My better half crocheted 9 afghans for our grandchildren while riding with me in 2012. She also handled all of the Qualcomm messages.

Road time is great for the crafty women who ride with us. Not so much for our sisters in arms who drive. I showed my wife how to use the QC but since I'm solo and she isn't a driver Celadon has it set to disable messages when I'm moving. If I get a load when I'm out of the truck the system texts me. So she just plays solitaire on it if she gets bored while we're loading. Which isn't often, because knitting.
double yellow Thanks this. -
Soooo, sitting at a little truck stop about a mile from my pickup. I want to watch The Last Samurai. Wife wants to watch a romantic chick flick (The Holiday). Guess which one we did? Actually a decent movie although nobody killed anybody and there was not one explosion or car chase. It was unusual to see Jack Black play a regular, decent human being. I was rewarded with her world famous slow cooker ziti.
In other news, if I can get this trip scanned in before midnight Tuesday night, I'll have turned a crappy week into...still a crappy week, only not so much. I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever see a 3,000 mile week again. Here lately I've been doing okay. It can be a tightrope walk between great miles and having enough time to do the work as scheduled -- downside of the 62mph governors. It does make me better at trip planning and keeping the door shut, though. On account of how you're not going to make up the time.
I am Captain Zoom.

Grabbing an omelette then I have approx 4 hrs to cover the 200 miles to Farmville NC. Then backtrack 30 miles to a scanning location so I can get paid. Due home next Sunday. Current dispatcher has been great about getting me home on time so no worries. This guy has made Celadon a remarkably low stress environment. My only beef is the pay-- more suited to 1994 in my opinion. But there seems to be a lot of that going around. I have an offer of $.10 more but I don't job hop lightly. I left Dart to come here under what I considered extreme circumstances. Even then it took me two weeks to make up my mind. Well, check is here -- more on the move from Dart later. Be safe out there. Saw a truck with an improperly secured goat earlier.
9tail and Dominick253 Thank this. -
The Martians came down and ate up all the freight. Or maybe it was that guy Albert Kaeda. Durn it all. Stuck in Kenly NC at the Petro with no preplan. Yawn.
Dominick253 Thanks this. -
Got a load of tobacco in Butt Crack, Pennsylvania. Ben sitting in the dock for three hours. Just found out I could have been gone almost an hour ago, but everybody went to lunch after they loaded me and they won't do my paperwork til after their break. I'm getting screwed by Amish dock workers. Go figureth.
