I think in the most european countries You have to work so hard that You die to survive. Only austria I think is a little bit fair.
Hm, and I think You would like the trucks.
All easier, only full synchronised gear boxes, waiting and loading time payed. And the payment per hour, not per mile. I really think You should try austria.
Good luck
I'm canadian but want to truck in europe. Where do I start? Need advice.....

And the trick is: in some northern countries, even after ALL the taxes people get still payed better than in the states/Canada. That means more money pluss all the "socialism" benefits. Not a bad combination, eh ?

Aleksofcanada my parents are also from Serbia but I was born in Slovenia and working as a trucker here in Slovenia as well.
My advice to you is do not come to Europe because a lot of us European truckers including myself are looking for work in Canada or United States as a truckers.
It's a big recession here in Europe, a lot of the major trucking companies are not running anymore, there are a lot of the smaller companies but the owners often don't pay their truckers...
Here in Slovenia many of the truckers come from Serbia and Bosnia because the situation in their countries is even worse then here in Slovenia, although in Slovenia is a disaster really...
If you really want to come to Europe try Germany or Austria, or maybe Sweden they are way better payed then we are in Slovenia or Serbia...
But wherever in Europe you go, the biggest problem of yours will be that you do not have EU passport. Even if you get Serbian nationality it won't be enough, because Serbia is not the European Union member state, so you will still need working visa to work in any of the European countries as a trucker...
My advice for you is to start in Canada... Many Europeans including me are dreaming to move to Canada or United States someday and find the work there.
Cheers from snowy Europe!Last edited: Feb 9, 2013

Europe was fine, before that lot from The East came rolling in, taking our jobs and our standard of living. Don't you dare blaming it on the crisis, that's bs...
And, how does it feel, being kicked out of a job by guys who work for even less then you? Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming you or your collegues personally, I know it's pathetic politicians that ###### it all up...but fact is, you guys are doing the job that we, from the west, used to do, for slave- salaries.
Our parents and we worked like pigs to achieve what we, until a few years ago, had. And then you thought you could have the same overnight...
And I know what I'm talking about, my father was Croatian...
Sick, sick of it all...halfgear Thanks this. -
