Looks like we're talking about different O'Neal/O'Neill Steels, which is what I was trying to figure out in the first place. But good on ya for not jumping to some other conclusion.

*Gordon Food Service* (leader in broad line food service distribution)
If your in GA Gordon's has a warehouse in Douglassville and they do hire new CDL holders and it's not a bad job for a new CDL holder, because the earning potential is probably a tad higher then you would get at a big megga truck load carrier, It's substantially higher then what you would get at like PAM. If you have what it takes to unload the trailer, because that's a lot of your job then you can do it. How strong are you? You don't have to be Arnold Schwarzenegger just do the best you can, but I don't see why you couldn't make $60-$70G's your first year.) Plus the warehouse in Douglassville is mostly chain accounts so you might be gone over night a night or two, but GFS has an account with Hilton so our trucks are parked at the nicer places like the Hampton Inn and Home2Sweets beats living out of a sleeper cab for months at a time showering at a truck stop.
Dayton Freight (regional LTL carrier in the mid west leader in there field)
United States Postal Service (probably the best job out there pay wise and benefits wise)
Martin Brower (good paying, good benefits and mostly home every night large distributor for McDonalds)
Anderson DuBoise (Ohio-New York State McDonald's supplier local round the clock, but pays well)
Old Dominion(The hottest thing in Less Then Truck Load Service pretty much the cutting edge of the industry)
Decker from Ft. Dodge, Iowa (Very reputable OTR Refer and flat bed outfit)
Those are my picks, depends what you want to do. I'm usually in it for the most money and benefits and culture. All of these companies are top tier leader in there field, I work for Gordon's because the yard is close to my house and they have some nice benefits and were treated pretty well, and for a local job there's lots of opportunities to do stuff some local work wouldn't always have.)Last edited: Dec 25, 2016
Sho Nuff Thanks this. -
My list of favorite companies are basically all local jobs and for the most part, require about 2-5 years experience in order to be qualified.
1. USPS - Currently work there and the pay and benefits are outstanding. Guys coming in to work today make double and half (around $120 an hour). Benefits is too complex to explain. There's about 30 different plans you can choose from. Retirement is excellent as well, got guys getting about $5k a month.
2. Any Grocery Outfit (SuperValu, ACME, Wegmans, ShopRite, etc.) - Take a look at the Safeway thread and it'll explain why.
3. UPS Freight - Excellent pay and benefits as well, that's IF your at top rate.
4. ODFL - For the same reason that everybody else mentioned.
5. Bimbo Bakeries/Grocery Haulers - Hauling baked goods.
6. Ashley Furniture - $90k + is obtainable.
And these are ALL potential $100k + jobs.TequilaSunrise, Mike2633 and Pintlehook Thank this. -

SuperValu (I work there, hehe)
Publix private fleet
