I'm curious, what's it like to drive team? pros and cons?

well driver, ya know, opening a window allows for the cool fresh April air to enter and make your whole truck smell April fresh...

 

Wife and I had a food incident at highway speed, everything was open, we both hung out like dogs for a few dozen miles. It was bad. Always something.

I had one driver who may or may not have mental barriers wearing a helmet in my pax seat once when I transported him fighting the Baltimore traffic. That would be the end of that one.

Had a student for 15 minutes. Turned him back to the yard. Boss asked what was the problem. I would say to student turn left here.

Student says why? as we approach a red light and a intersection filling with cars. Mr Buttons took care of that.

Why?

If I hear why one more time... *Grits teeth.... (Whew...)

I swear on my life if Mr Why ever passes before I do, ima boughten him a stone with

"Why?" etched into it.

 

Basically you’d be living with a dirty truck driver. lol

Husband was a trainer with another company several years ago as a lease operator. After a few days they were planned to be a team truck.. He preferred women because they listened better and didn't try to tear his truck up like the hot dog men did. He had one that had problems with her boyfriend, he broke up with her, and she was beating and banging doors around the one night. Told him to just go outside and ignore her for a bit and it would pass, this was the only major event with a woman.

He had one foreign country guy kid who did not want to spend money for any type of good food, ie something with protein, just on junk food like chips and acted like a space cadet, spacing out. He finally blew through a stoplight and didn't even attempt to slowdown. He hauled him back to the terminal. Don't know what they did with him, but sometime later on heard there was a bad accident and always wondered if he was the one.

He had 2 jumped ship when they decided trucking wasn't for them, mostly family and missing them led to that decision.

He teamed as the other guy being a co-driver for a few months. Wasn't too bad of a deal, but a lot of times the co-driver had a set amount check where we didn't get paid that week. Low frieght that year.
