I'm curious, what's it like to drive team? pros and cons?

Running team the truck is rolling down the road 22 hours a day. So you have 2 hours to fuel, shower and bathrooms and eat. It's 1,200 miles in 24 hours maybe a little less today because of ELDs. That's what I had to do with a student. 1,200 in 24 hours. We did Conway runs that's now XPO. Cincinnati Ohio to Portland Oregon. 2,400 miles and we had like 48 hours to make. It was not fun

Nope. Not even that. We were on paper so... the logs took care of themselves. You can only roll a thousand two hundred or so miles in 24 hours. We had different HOS then in 2001 than what they do today. You could string together sleeper and driving any way you like it for the both of you keep that thing rolling.

Finally after the Vice Prez got a eyeful of what we were trying to do without being able to stop a minute he issued orders to let us shut down half a day to a day every 6th. That allowed us to get caught up and stay caught up. By the time we handed off that freightliner squeak box to a poor Solo...

An then fate laughs, an the area around you outside the truck smells worse then what your trying to air out. Looking at you that stretch of 95 that stinks for just no #### reason...GA..SC I forget which. An NJ...whole bloody state. Their state souvenir should be a clothespin for your nose.

    ;)

Oh an Baltimore. Gah! NJ is far worse tho...

Sometimes the outside is worse then what your trying to escape inside!

It is hard to get along with someone 24/7. Now that I think about it I can not get along with myself all day without an argument.

Wife and I have been running team for a little over a year now and we love it. I don't think I'd be able to do it with anyone else tbh. So I can't speak for teaming with another dude. Just teaming with a spouse.

    Pros:
-You're never lonely (in more ways than one haha)
-always have help backing and splitting the work load in general.
-since it's teaming with a spouse our money goes into 1 bank acct. So we're earning high $1XX,XXX every year.
-our company gives us priority on the load boards.(even at customers where there is a wait, we will end up getting in and out before guys that have been waiting all day)

    Cons:
-obviously two people in a small box is more cramped than just one.
-there have been times where we've been run nonstop, like we have had to tell our dispatcher that we HAVE to stop for showers and laundry. (We've since found a great balance and no longer have to run like animals)
-we get alot of high priority loads, in which the customer wants you to call in Everytime you stop to take a piss or whatever the reason is.

It's too early to think about anymore haha so I'll stop there. Overall our experience with teaming has been great, but it's not for everyone. And like I said above, if I wasn't teaming with the wife I'm pretty sure I couldn't team at all.

Or the burning refineries supporting the Gas guzzling nation near Lake Charles LA. The enormity of the fires will cause you to think.

High 6 figures would be close to a million a year. Care to share the company name?
