Yep, Swift has put yet another newbie on the road. Truck #301442. An '07 Volvo with +/-367,000 miles on it (B service due at 381,000). Excellent condition on the outside (not so much as a nick that I could find), "clean but dirty" on the inside.

I was thinking back to May 24 when I started at the academy in Memphis and I asked myself, "Was it worth it?" Ladies and gentlemen, it #### sure was. I've had to "bite my tongue", "bite the bullet", "swallow my pride", "go the extra mile", etc., but, "I GOT A FREAKIN' TRUCK"!

I'm spending another night at the hotel in Memphis to take a little more time to get rid of this "bug" I caught just before I finished my OTR training, but I've assured my new driver manager that I'll be ready to roll by noon tomorrow. I'm looking for a dispatch that'll take me close to home where I'll take a few days off, get the truck detailed, and then set out for "parts West", I hope. I spent most of my OTR training time east of the Mississippi...it's time for a change in venue!:biggrin_25525:

    More later,
    Oldnew...

Don't stick around in Memphis to long, you might have a hard time getting a load out of there... Laredo, El Paso, same thing especially on the weekend.. Also try your hardest to stay out of CA. Every time I got a load there, it would be 4 days before I got a load out..

Oh I hope they send you towards home and then to the land of high heat. LOL Feels good to have that truck doesn't it? You reminded me we need to get this thing detailed again. It's darn dust collector. And the road pro vacumn is a piece of poo.

All you people complaining about me not answering my phone......well at least YOU have the number......most don't even get that. I'll try to be better. I live a rather....limited life "drive, sleep, drive, sleep, drive, sleep, drive, sleep, drive, sleep, drive, sleep, wash clothes, play with grandsons, drive, sleep, etc.

Hey! San Diego isn't to bad. We use to go there once a week. Of course we went through it to OtayMesa and parked on the freaking border lol

You'll love that "terminal" Sonny, the back fence is the border.
