Those are pretty rough offences. The firearms offence will be looked at heavily, the impaired driving will be scrutinzed even more. If you are fortunate to get on with THE SMURFS OF OMAHA NE,you better kiss some major league "bootay",because they can change their minds so fast about employing you you'd think you were struck by lightning. GOOD LUCK. LONEWOLF65 AN ex WERNER driver. of 15yrs.again good luck brother.

I was a Werner Prehire. Did not yet have my license. Got another letter- non hire. They can change their minds. I had a 1968 Felony sale & possession of Marijuana. They were told from the beginning. It was ok & then became not ok. Take your chances. I may try them again. I was told they only keep your records 3 months & then toss them. Was told on the phone by a person at Warners to apply again.

Unless Werner has changed their hiring qualifications--they will not hire you with a felony, EVER and misdemeanors have to be 20 years old or older. At least that is how it was. They may only keep your records(application file) for 3 months, but they re-apply for your DAC every time you apply with them. Some companies ask for a copy of your DAC ever year you work for them, it is unusual, but not uncommon. These companies will pre-hire about anyone, but NONE make that final decision until you finish your school and have your CDL in hand. BTW, every driver has a DAC as soon as you recieve your temporary CDL before you begin your school.

I'm glad to hear that you've never had an incident with a firearm. I'm a former Law Enforcement Officer with the Denver Police Department and also have extensive firearms training in my background since I was 13 and went hunting with my family. After that I served 10 years in the Army in the Light Infantry. There have been many officers who have had an accidental discharge of a firearm as there has also been while training on a Live-Fire Range in the Military. I don't know what you do in the Pan Fish, but I can assure, if you've never had, nor seen an accidental discharge you are definite to have one or witness one at some point.

The temper I have is one that is patient and willing to take on anything to feed my family and provide them with shelter and housing. I'm not violent, nor have I had anything in my past prior or after these incidents that would portray someone who is violent.

The charge in 1999 was dismissed to Disorderly Conduct because there was no evidence to support the charge of Felony Menacing. I was in my car and my passenger started a fight with the people in front of us in a Taco Bell Parking lot. He was very drunk and I couldn't get him to shut his mouth. He took out a tire iron which I had in my car and when it was said and done we were both arrested for Felony Menacing, he was charged and found guilty, and I was not. The DWAI came as a result of being pulled over and when I did the breatholizer I blew a .06 which was .01 above the level for DWAI and .04 below DUI for Colorado. We were one of the last states to implement the federal mandate of DUI at .08 with no DWAI. So with that said, if it had been a later time I would not have charged with a DWAI.

It troubles me that these lowlifes are what's out there in these trucks. I wish something could be done to attract higher caliber people. I suppose a start would be companies raising their standards to exclude felons, drunks and idiots with guns.

Whatever a company's recruiter tells you, GET IT IN WRITING! That way, when they "suddenly" discover a discrepency, 4 months after you've been hired, there is a paper trail to fall back on.

    Good luck with your search!

    Baack Thanks this.

Such a nice guy you are, perhaps you might re-read the post and you will find that I'm not a felon, drunk, or an idiot with a gun. Perhaps your making an attempt to compensate something you don't feel good about within yourself which has led you toward the Ad Hominem Attack.
