This was posted on another forum recently. I hope the OP doesn't mind me quoting him here, but this is some of the best spot-on advice for any future O/O.
This should be required reading for anyone thinking about this risky investment:

Well I read a post the other day from a member here that said he knew that Pharmphail had lost his truck, house, cars, etc... and he thought his family and was now living back with his mom and dad. Trucking can destroy your life if you don't know what your getting into and sometimes even if you do.

Yeah Redd, he did. The reason why I say that thread is so great is because it honestly shows what can happen to you if you hop into this business when don't really know what you are doing. I think it's an excellent thread, especially for newbies.

    OP,

Crosby trucking has a terminal up in Sidney, OH. They have a few O/O's and are always looking for more. You'll be doing some dry van, a few curtainside, and a lot of DLS Logistics Reefer loads. They are very good with O/O's (cause they cant keep company drivers). Not sure how much they pay, but they'll get you home most, if not every weekend.

He's probably too depressed to come on TR and talk about it,possibly suicidal.I know I would have been(when I realized that I wasted a year of my life and my entire life savings on a dream)I ended up on antidepressants in a psychiatric hospital, til they let me out on weekend visits, with my belt and shoelaces. That Paxil is a wonderful drug, saved my life(along with group counciling)you realize that you're not the only person in the world with problems and many have trouble much worse than you.
...He may come back when he gets over it.I couldn't bring myself to look at or talk about my failed investment till many years passed by.Now I know that it was just a speed bump on the road;not the fatal head on wreck that I thought it was, when it happened.
