Sure, I'd say go for it! Just have money to get back home once they've lured you up there under their own false pretenses. They'll play you while you think you're playing them. Get up there on your own dime, you show up, they let you know they were onto you. Send you packing. If you don't have money or resources for your return trip, I hear the fast food wages are $10+ up with no housing for hundreds of miles. Or maybe get exploited and screwed over by shady outfits for a while, since you'll potentially be stuck up there. Maybe they can get free labor out of you for a while, that's a type of experience, right?

Exactly how do you think you are going to lie your way thru the driven portion f there prehire testing. Backing, shifting, etc. By the way the oil industry is a lot smaller than one might think. Burn one bridge here and its gone forever. What makes you think anyone here would want you crusing thru or oilfields without training or experience. Probably one of the most dangerous places to try lie and learn quick.

I would not recommend that. All employers do in fact check on your driving record. My recommendation is to be very honest with them, that might get you in the door. Good luck.

I know plenty of guys (and one gal) who have been hired in other industries because they lied about having previous experience. I repeat: other industries. (Not the trucking industry)
One of them is married with two children. They live in a good house. Not too big, not too small. He works in the television industry. He lied about his previous experience with TV and radio more than 7 years ago. He's still employed. His life is good.
Lying about previous experience shouldn't be as bad as everyone in this thread is making it out to be, right? It's a white lie at worst.
As long as you know your stuff, do your homework, know the ins and outs of the industry, know what you're supposed to do for your job, you won't be seen as green.
If employment history checks really are as stringent in the trucking business as brsims says they are, alright then. I'm going to start my way from the bottom up.
I guess I'm just gonna go with the entry-level OTR job offer someone already has for me next week.
It seems like two or three years ago everyone here in the Bakken was hiring anyone with a pulse, even guys right out of truck driving school, to haul oil for phat $$$. Not so anymore, I guess.StayBusyTrucker Thanks this. -
You would be amazed just how many employers dont even care about any past exp I was hired in New London Ct. By a moving company as a onsite office mover at the millstone nuclear power station in less than one hour soley based on a clean criminal record and pee test .Every thing else was the owner of the m&s company taking my word on my past exp..

The oilfield is a entirely different animal......the sun shines 365 days a year in the oilfield.....you cant even compare it to the television industry....if you fail a pee test or refuse one or dont show up for one its put in a database for all the oil companies to see and your bridge is burnt.....youre acting like its all rainbows and cake and ice cream living in frozen tundra making big coin.....if I could catch a Schwann truck headin down the road and run it into the ditch and steal a bunch of dreamsicles I guess Id feel the same way.
