Almost every OTR driver drives team with the trainer of their first company. In the months I did it with my trainer I never got good sleep except when we were at a hotel. the trucks is bumping & slowing and turning I never slept even though I was dog tired. Do you know anyone you cannot wake up by shaking them? If you sleep in a moving truck you are being shaken frequently, if not continuously.
I'm going to school for Crst in Iowa. Need advice and info.

Bottom feeder companies put you in situations almost guaranteed to make it hard to keep your record clean. Choose wisely. The driver shortage isn't drying up anytime soon. Don't rush into a decision.TequilaSunrise, sassy_southern_trucker and QuietStorm Thank this.

They will treat you just fine until you get in one of their trucks then the gloves will come off.Toomanybikes, Rusty Trawler, alghazi and 4 others Thank this.

Not really that hard, but then i never reported all the poorly placed light poles at truck stops... or those trailers at the yards... or you know, that guy who wasn't paying attention at the shipper... or...
Anyways basically, don't ever think you got anything down until you don't have to think about it. once that happens start getting out and looking every time until you start to not remembering backing in, because at that point you'll know when you need to look. -
I disagree with everything but not rushing into a decision
YOU as a driver make it hard, not the company.
YOU are in charge of that truck, not the company.
YOU are in charge of your HOS, not the company.
There is no driver shortage, there is a shortage of professional drivers.
You guys always assume or complain when something isn't to your liking, all of you have been warned this isn't an "easy to make the big bucks" job but a serious profession to many of us.
This site, like other sites, seem to attract complainers, failures and most of the information is negative. For the most part no company can exist with such a high turnover, especially in this regulated industry but still many buy into this as being a place to make the big bucks. -
And when was the last time you drove for a bottom feeder company? I'm guessing it was during the Cuban Missile Crisis. You seem to think these predatory companies have their employees best interest at heart and won't push them to do unsafe actions to make extra money for the company . I think you would make a great team driver with sassy in a CRST truck.Last edited: Dec 22, 2016

That's because you've been there for about 15 minutes.
Most of the negative comments I've seen on this thread involve *driving* for CRST, which you haven't done. I haven't seen any negative comments about sitting on ### waiting to go to school, which you are currently doing.Rusty Trawler and sassy_southern_trucker Thank this. -
Best advice is it too late to turn back and research better companies?
