I went to 4 different clinics to try and get a physical to at least obtain my permit and they all want a sleep study. I have no insurance and cannot afford this crap. I am overweight, but I used to work at a rest area and I have saw 600 pound truckers before. I'm starting to think this is just a big money racket. People drove trucks for a long time without this hassle. I guess I will just bust my back in a factory for 8.25 an hour for the rest of my life cause trucking is too hard to get into now a days. I don't want to give up, but ####.
I'm in a sleep apnea pickle.

I was "forced" into a sleep apnea test a few years ago. Took it, and found out I didn't have it. IIRC, it was about $1200.00 that the clinic worked out a payment plan on.
Good Luck! -

If you search around there are programs where the study can be done at a reduced cost of you can show the financial need. I had one done in 07, cost to me was 1300. And I made payments. So, yeah it can be done

You can still drive with SA. Will have to wear PAP machine when you sleep though. Could save your life.
