I need some suggestions in trying to figure out what company to go with.
My choices are limited to the fact that I leave in Central Florida.
I would like to drive Solo. I understand that I will have to team during training.
I’ve spoken with Swift and they aren’t hiring out of Florida.
And a couple of others today and no luck.
My brain is just fried trying to figure this out along with all of my personal ##### that I’m trying to deal with.
So hopefully in the next week I will move forward in getting my CDL.
I just got the permit today.

    One other question:
I t will cost about $4500 to go to Roadmasters for the 160 hr training or go to Mid Florida Tech which is an 8wk 30 hr program and will cost $2100.
I also have been approved for finical aid and will not have to pay back due to my last couple of years not making much money. I had my own business and the economy as put me just about out of business.
Now I do have the $4500 to pay for school but is it worth going to Mid Florida for the 8wk program.
Try running the #’s to see if you would pay the $4500 for the 3 wk and hopefully going to work fairly soon and make anywhere from $350-500 a wk training verses going to Mid Florida for 8wks and than start training with a company.

    Thanks
    Winger

I don't know anything whatsoever about the carriers in the following list other than the fact that they are in Florida. But, you might get on the phone with their recruiting departments and see if they can help you to sort out the training dilemma.

    Quality Carriers in Tampa
    CTL in Mulberry
    CCC in Auburndale
    Cypress in Jax
    Raven in Jax
    Carroll Fulmer in Groveland
    Pritchett in Lake Butler
    Indian River in Winter Haven

    Good luck!

    Judi,
I have spent the past few months reading all the threads and it's almost
a full time job just reading all the good and bad, and then trying to figure out who is telling it straight and them there are those that just like to blow smoke and complaine about everything.

    Thanks,
    Winger

    P.S.
I also have a pre hire from Roehl. But after reading all the post I'm not sure that I want to be micro managed.
