Hell, if you ain't worried about your pay rate. I will hire you, and I guarantee you will always be rolling, and never home...

I worked with a couple who first drove for Stevens. Their biggest complaint with them, was they were never paid on time... They went 3 weeks once before they even saw a pay check.. The only thing that kept them going at the time, was they had a fat savings account.. They both got tired of it and eventually left after their first ys.. Nice looking trucks, doesn't always mean a good company to drive for.. I drove for Swift my first yr, and never once had they missed a pay date..

So if Stevens is not a good company? What is a good reefer company for a student driver to start with? Thanks for the advice doubledragon5.

A friend of mine drove for Heartland for about four years. Says he was happy with them, but left them for a local gig.

However, I have no personal knowledge of them.

I guess I'm a bit curious as to why you want to pull a refer. Dry van is a heck of a lot less hassle!

The reason I prefer to pull a reefer is because I believe that there is more reefer freight out there. Even in slow economic time people still have to eat. Thanks for the advice Big Don.

When I go solo do I need to find a company that will allow me to put a refrigarator, microwave, crockpot, toaster oven, ect. in the truck or do all companies allow this. Also, will I have to get an inverter and have it istalled myself or do the company provide the inverters. Help me I'm new to this industry looking for much needed info. Thanks to all drivers out there. . .
