I'm noticing a lot of damaged trailers

    At the plant I deliver tothere are of course bollards all over the place. Construction company is ripping out an old car parking lot there and removed one of the bollards. A 12" square tube of concrete 6 foot down attached to a 10 foot square pad of concrete. Was neat the backhoe tossing it around like tissue paper.

    Business is good. And when business is good, you have more traffic. At one of my company shops I deliver/pick-up from, the business across from them is stuffing several 53' trailers into a dock setup that was just handling box trucks with maybe one 53' occasionally. When you start "making do" with what you got, there's bound to be some scraps here and there.

    That damage you see on the upper passenger side of dry vans is only done by yard dogs who cut the corner too closely while right hand backing. Regular drivers don't right hand back into docks or other tight spaces, but yard dogs do.
