Hey, RodMichael...
Do you have an idea how far back they could detects drugs in your system? I used to take Percocet then later Vicoden for my back, but now the doctor changed it to Tramadol and Robaxin for muscle relaxant. He said, he doesn't believe in narcotics. Do you know if those two meds plus the previous meds will shut me down from being hired or getting my CDL?

Jae,
On the drug test as long as you had a perscription for the meds and are no longer on proscribed narcotics you're fine.
If you search youtube for "schneider physical test "you'll find a video detailing everything you'll have to do. If you can't do those excercises with ease then trucking may not be for you. Not trying to harsh your buzz, just being honest.
we do have a fair number of women trainers but its even money you'll end up with a man. You'll spend nights i will a motel so it shouldn't be a big deal. -
ok i currently have my class A only looking at Schneider for my first OTR company 90% of my experience is military for tractor trailer witch means that i have never backed into a dock and i have never had to hook to a trailer the way civilian trucks do i have always hauled a 870A3 trailer that you have to use a wench to hook up to it and it folds down into a ramp makes it nice to load and unload and this summer i drove some end-dump trailers but those you NEVER unhook or you will not get them re-hooked so my question is do you think this will be a problem with Schneider or will they be ok with it the recruiter i talked to made it sound fine and all but she wasn't very convincing considering she was trying to get me off the phone as fast as she could since she wasn't the recruiter for the job i am looking at.

I wouldn't worry to much about it. Hooking up trailers is probably the easiest thing we do. Now backing up might be an issue for you if you haven't done much of it. Depending on your trainer at orientation he might work with you if your struggling on the back up course but there is a time limit on that. They expect you to have the basics down before you get there. I seen a lot of people that were in my class still struggling with backing and most ironed it out before test day. -
oh i can back up i just have never put a trailer into a dock driving an end dump u back up all day my blind side backing is a little iffy but not terrible and im pretty sure if you gave me a trailer and a few minutes i could have it hooked up it just may take me a minute or two to make sure im lined up and all in not afraid to GOAL i do it alot! lol and thanks.

SNI frowns on blind side anyway so don't worry about that they won't test you on that at all. I'm pretty sure you won't have a problem. Good luck and keep us informed on how it goes.

hey combat engineer, did you decide to join the pumpkin patch? If so I have a few questions for ya
-
no i have not joined the patch yet i am still doing my research and trying to figure out if it is the right move for my family. i am hoping this summer tho to be joining as i think that it will be a benefit for me then i have a few things to finish up with the VA that is taking alot of time and is just being a pain when that is done i should be good to go on the open road.
-
VA folks kinda move at their own speed,I feel for ya, went down that road to, after my first deployment went to Va for a check up, they stuck me with a middle eastern doctor then wondered why my stress level was kinda high, not that I'm against asian doctors but it probably wasn't the right time to do it

Hey there Female Driver,
How are things going with you driving for Schneider thus far? I got my CDL during the first week of December and now that the holidays are over I'm ready to look for my first OTR job.
