Okay, so far, Wil Trans has approved my application and I am waiting for it to process to get me over the road. Even though I got my CDL a year and a half ago, I only worked for Werner Enterprises as a student driver, and that was for less than two weeks. They terminated me because they felt I needed more training. A few weeks later, Steven's Transport brought me over and two days afterwards, I got disqualifed for taking lamictal. I then went back to trucking school for a refresher course. I graduated with 120 hours, and then I upgraded to 184 hours and got my hazmat endorsement. I mainly did it to refresh my skills and get a job with US Xpress. Then they found out I worked with Werner and disqualifed me for it which I thought was unfair, because that was a year and a half ago and I got further training since.
Needless to say, I am very cautious about how this will turn out with Wil Trans assuming that I am sent up there. My main issue is the medication I (still) take. Should I lie or omit that I take it? Mind you, I've been through alot in the past year and a half and I went to great lengths to obtain a trucking job, and I don't want this to be another company that turned me down. I am limited for the following reasons....
1)I am in South Florida which is an odd area and many companies do not hire there.
2)I'm inexperienced
3)I take medication(which is an anti-depressant)
4)The fact that I had what should've been a blip on the radar can disqualify me from getting hired.
I really want to pull out all the stops to get AND maintain this job. I know that I shouldn't lie about taking it, but on the same token, I don't want this job to turn me down after all I've been through. Yeah, I know if some accident occured they can look into my medical history and blame the medication, but I'll just have to make sure nothing happens.
What are your thoughts on this? Thanks.

RULE NO. 1: DO NOT LIE ON AN APPLICATION. EVER.
No matter what the result is they will at least respect you for being honest. I'm thinking whatever you're taking would show up in a drug screen anyway. -
If you ever get checked out for an accident or on the job injury and they find out you can loose your CDL for life. It is not worth lying about it.

I wouldn't considering trying hide, or lie about taking the medication. They must do the drug tests, and yes it will show up. Lie about it, or not telling them, is just going to look bad for you.
Now looking at the medication, Lamictal (Lamotrigine), appears to be a treatment for Epilepsy. A side affect is a very dangerous, and possibly deadly skin rash. So far I can't find where it's used to treat depression. Not saying that it's not, just haven't found it. The epilepsy is what they may be disqualifying you for. There's no way they can allow someone with epilepsy drive a CMV, period.

Have you read my post above about what that medication is stated to be used for? That's what they're looking at, also the warning that you should not drive while using it.

You already got fired ONCE for not reporting a prior job....
you were already disqualified ONCE for taking a prohibited drug...(you will be drug tested, scheduled and random).
you already were found to be lacking in skills ONCE, and needed extra training...or was that twice...
hate to say it...but it seems to be in black and white...driving is not for you. Move on. Sorry to be harsh, but most folks would have figured it out by now imo.
good luck on your future endovours, and remember, even if you somehow lie emough to get in the door, it will catch up to you...Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
Don't try to hide it from them. Don't lie about anything, particularly your health.
Is your desire to drive a big truck so bad that you are willing to take a chance like this?harleymanjax Thanks this.
