I'm stuck in this bad weather in Colorado. How do you decide when to drive or not?

Same. Even if you’re the best driver in the world and running two sets of triples and a steer you still have to count on the fact that you could come around the corner upon a big road closing wreck or worse, become part of it. Pull h pin and Netflix & Chill, even if it’s Just with yourself.

You can Google or look for app from different states. They usually let you see the road cameras. So you can see how the roads look before you leave.

Hey, OP, when these big storms hit the West, sometimes it takes a while for the 'salt shakers' (or plows) to catch up to the weather and make the roads safer... I would certainly NOT head out of Cortez at night into the unknown, I would catch some sleep and head out in the morning, fully rested & alert with some breakfast under your belt, maybe a cuppa coffee or hot chocolate within reach. Besides, you'll miss all that primo Utah scenery at night... just my $.02 on winter driving in the mountains & high desert. ;)

And is now in a ditch, wishing he'd never left the truck stop, lol... ;)

Meh, just kidding... hopefully he makes it through if he did leave.

Highway Weather, one of my most used apps. You can choose various routes, and it'll tell you the forecast along it adjusted for time, as well as tell you the best time to leave.
