I am averaging 44cpm but im dedicated and the pay scale for my fleet is 37cpm to 52cpm depending on the dispatch miles as a company driver plus stop pay to pick up backhauls on the way back, I am not sure how much the O/O's are paid on the fleet but I know they make decent checks. I forgot to mention my paychecks are based on a 5day week, I am home 2 days every week. I could go home nightly but choose to sleep in the truck to save on fuel driving back and forth 2 hours from home. I cant complain too much about my gig and Swift is being good to me right now.Dinomite Thanks this. -
Trust me....you will not make a killing as an L/P driver. I am not a person who encourages it to others, as I know it isn't a good situation for many. Personally, I had my reasons to take the plunge...goals. If you go in for the money....hahaha! Really hadn't seen numbers out here, thought I would share last week (before I went home this week). Many things affect the settlement throughout the week...hard to see the same settlement week after week. Here is one with little deadhead, and only 3,100 loaded miles. Look at the bottom, I will explain what I do with settlements.
LOADED MILES 3,136 EMPTY MILES 42
LEASE AMT (MILEAGE) 2,934.62 ADDITIONAL PAY 1,469.93 GROSS DUE OWNER 4,404.55
O/O INTERSTATE EQUIP TRCTR PMT 585
QUALCOM 20
MAINTENANCE RESERVE 158.90
FUEL COM-CHECK 1,870.31
DIESEL EXH FLUID 36.16
O/O COLLISION INSURANCE 75.59
O/O NONTRUCKING LIABILITY 16.15
O/O OCCUPATIONAL ACCIDENT 32.31
TOTAL CHARGES 2,794.42
NET AMT DUE OWNER 1,610.13
Direct Deposit Acct #XXXX 1,610.13
Taxes!!! Right of the top 25%, even if I pay in less when I file. In this case around $400. Then I take that total net before taxes and subtract 10% for a personal maintenance fund. I already allow Swift to take out 5%, by the way, for my 2014 cascadia. Then I take another pretax net 10% for personal savings. Pay myself $100 salary every week, some people think that makes me crazy. I go grocery shopping twice a month to stock the shelves & fridge, maybe get some new clothes....seems like that runs me $500/month. The rest goes into my checking, and I refuse to touch that. Once a month, I allocate money from checking for additional savings, needs, or helping others, and this further keeps my fingers from touching it too often. It's not perfect....not easy....NOT a money maker. People can do it with hard set goals, a bit of luck, determination, and of course also sacrifice.

Can somebody please give this guy a box of crackers. I'll pay you back when I c ya next time -
well I took the plunge. but I happened to take it on the wrong day. signed the lease last Tuesday but the truck didn't have the ez pass or the permit book. they said everything would be at the terminal by Thursday which it was but guess what I was charged those 2 days. so before I even get in the truck im already 3 or 4 hundred in the hole. then I get a load from mira loma, ca to phoenix but when I go to fuel my card is blocked, guess what its after 5 so everyone is gone. so now I have to give up the load and wait til Friday for somebody to fix my card. I called the recruiter to see if I could get those 3 days back towards my 23 days without truck payments and I was told that she couldn't do anything for me. so I ended the week with about 2,000 loaded miles and about 150 empty miles. its a lil harder than I expected but im pretty sure this week will be a lot better
