    I've had 3000 mile weeks with NO MT miles and I've had 2000 mile weeks with over 500 MT miles.

    My 2013 MT miles was less than 7% of my loaded miles. My "quick n dirty" rule is for MT miles to be less than 10% of loaded.

    It's OK to accept a load with excess MT miles, just don't make a habit of it.

    fr8monkey Thanks this.

    My Cascadia is doing fantastic as far as mileage is concerned. This is my last week;
    Phoenix to San Diego (VERY hilly), 44K in the box, 6.7mpg.
    San Diego to El Paso, 10K in the box, 9.3mpg.
    El Paso to Phoenix, 10K in the box, 10.3mpg.

    Lately, yes. Since my brother died in early May I haven't gone more than 10 days between stops by the house.

    sorry to hear about your loss. I want to do something like that but I just started this lease so im still trying to work my numbers. if I could just run CA, AZ, NM,TX, & NV ill be ok with that. but I don't mind going where the money is

    From my experience that will be tough to do. I was told early on that O/Os are not allowed to select "comfort zones", instead they expect us to turn down loads to avoid running where we don't want to go. I haven't found that to be very effective. The other problem with running "western 11" is expensive fuel and lower fuel mileage compared to running the Midwest and Southeast.

    I try to stay west of I-35. I'll go east (of I-35) if the load works for me. I'm headed for Houston tomorrow and may continue east or northeast from there if the money is good.

    Well, it looks like I am headed right back to Auburn, WA.

    I forgot to take my lock off the trailer I dropped. They sent me a message and I walked over to get it. The driver was there waiting and we talked a bit. He mentioned that he had just come from the Pilot up the road and there were a couple dozen Swift trucks sitting there waiting for a load. He was glad to get this short t-called load that I dropped off.

    So I figured it might be best to take anything offered to me, just to get out of the area.
    I was rather surprised to get a load offer before tomorrow. The dispatcher in Willows also mentioned freight was slow.
    But once I get to WA I'll be holding out for loads that get me to MN for my home time.
