I'm worried I won't get this job on a technicality

Sounds like you've got a pretty good shot with Fed-Ex, so ride that one out and see what happens. If for some reason that falls through, look around for drivers wanted for harvesting. That's a pretty decent gig, though the money isn't great and you'll be out somewhere in the country for the rest of the season. It'll keep you from starving and count towards experience, though.

Yeah I'll always have farmers i suppose. The average 10 dollars an hour with farming is why I decided to look for a company. Btw if any of you other noobs are reading this. I just found out that you can actually drive for a farm without a CDL as long as you driving in a 150 mile radius in Illinois at least. If thats the case, then I guess I have years experience. I drove my first combo at 13 from field to field. But I never hauled it all the way to the elevator till I got my CDL cuz I thought that was illegal. Guess not.

Hey that is great! Hope that you learned something from this. Namely that you don't just go with the first answer you get. Particularly if you want (or need,) something badly enough.

Hell, if you end up needing to, you could stretch your experience out a bit using that. I've never once had anyone ask me when my CDL was issued.

Ok now I'm all set. Just went and got my triples endorsement. Now I'm just waiting for Fedex to set up my driving test with them. God I hope they don't expect me to be good at hooking up doubles or triples immediately.....

No worries there, but the 100 yard serpentine backing test with triples is no picnic. Be sure put in some extra practice on that. You only get two chances to pass it, and then you're banned from driving for life.

    No pressure, understand. :biggrin_2559:

Sure wouldn't want to back that thing up! Nope, no way!

Wonder how long it takes to get that thing moving?
