I recently bought aluminum wheels for my daycab, I considered used wheels but used is not always safe. Alcoas were a bit too much for my wallet and they are not made in the good ol USA no mo. Mostly Brazil, Eastern EU and I think Mexico, then I heard about a sale at the local FL dealer here in socal, checked out the wheels and they are made in taiwan. The metal finish looked good and bought them. Have not had any problems with them, they are good, I polished them ma self. What has ur experience been with imported wheels?

and also found out acuride is also made in mexico.

If you look carefully, lots of replacement parts are being sourced from Asia and Eastern Europe these days. Even stuff coming from your official KW,PETE, Freightliner, Harvester etc dealer.

The operative question is: Who are you going to sue if the part causes injury/property damage? If it says Alcoa on it, their deep pockets cause them to make sure the quality stays high. If you buy from a supplier who's supply chain is shaky and quality unknown, you are stuck with the conseqences.

They are called will fit, or knock off, or worse case counterfeit parts. Deal with reputable concerns with good US reputations. You will be fine.

always ask about product liability insurance, I did they carry 5 million world wide insurance. but I could just imagine how long it would take to get paid from a claim to a giant company any how. Turns out the manufacturer alexrims has been around for 20 years making bicycle rims. That makes me feel safer about buying the product and reason dealer carry it. Freightliner of LA.

20 years of stamping bicycle rims makes you feel safer about rolling down the road on imported class 8 truck rims? Not trying to be a wise ***, but really?

I have been searching almost everything I buy for a Made in America tag & it is almost impossible to find. We keep giving away our manufacturing & are going to be left with nothing.

Sad but true! Am not down grading any item simply because it was mfg'd in another country & understand we are in a global economy. But this country needs jobs & you cannot drive an economy w/o something tangible within. Sales commissions & customer service/tech work are not going to cut it.
