Just curious, has anyone mentioned this website to the the Roehl instructors? If so what was their response?

Yep, you can expect this to happen in many cases at your training carrier.
$.30= 3,000 miles per week 0-6 months= $900wk = your cheap labor so they will run your butt off.
$.36= 2,500 miles per week 12-18 months=$900wk = no longer cheap so break out the DVD's and the quarters for the video games.

If you make it 1 year at Roel you will be the exception and not the rule.
Wrecks, Policy violations, Inability to handle driving OTR, Lack of miles,Job changes, the wife/husband threatening to leave you etc... will weed out most new drivers at the average large OTR carrier, especially one that has skateboards.

They seem to be as good a place to start as any in the OTR game. Good Luck:biggrin_255:

There is a 3 cents per mile bonus for 1 thing and a 3 cents per mile bonus for another which gives you a shot at 36 per mile off the bat. Based on mileage and accidents etc.

.30 a mile is that correct, holy smokes why is it so low, especially for the poor guy's who went through their school, after all that I would imagine You would be worth more than that to someone, that is lousy, I really hope that is for van work, and there is a diff for flat, but how could anyone justify doing this type of work, being away from home, and volunteering for a sleep disorder, for that rate.. Sorry I am not belittling anyone here, I am just mad that the company cant do better than that, at least for their own grads, JOKERS:biggrin_25516:

It ends up at 36 cents, and you have to start somewhere.
Newbies are high maintenance and wreck things. So they are not worth as much as seasoned vets. It is the same in any industry.

I did mention this website when they asked why I chose Roehl, and their response was "What's that?". I explained, but I really don't think any of them waste too much time on a PC. However, many of the other drivers knew what I was talking about.

You know now that I am thinking of it You are right, all in all this now seems like a pretty good thing, to be honest I guess I was being a bit of a jerk, easy for me to say how a rate sucks when I have been doing it for a very long time, I apologize to everyone, I know better I was a company owner with my family for many years and all we did was flats, trying to find a good operator was impossible, actually part of the reason we are closed now.. I would to be honest love to have the time to do something like that school just to see what I could learn that is new and update my self, I can only imagine how many Bad habbits I have and don't even know it.. Good luck to all who actually were dedicated enough to complete such a course, and remember You are the future of the road out there do well be safe, and retire us old guy's with grace:biggrin_25525:
