If there are waves of layoff and everyone hates drivers anyway, then why not go to the most contracted carrier in the industry? It's solely about paying bills anyway... Most carriers see drivers as disposable labor... It's like you're winning the ####### game
But you're already at a place that punishes you for saying no, and is probably going to lay you off soon, so how does that work? The plastic truck is a better color and they sometimes don't mess up home requests?
I was joking around with my wife the other day about our plans when we move to the U s. Maybe I should lease my truck on with Swift. She's watches Youtube's shows with me like "Boneheaded Truckers" etc. And says, "Why work with a company like that for"?.. However, I see it from a business standpoint as they have their direct customers, load board etc. Regardless I never did look at them seriously really yet and not sure what their avg. Rate per mile and contracted insurance rates and what they actually offer?
Swift is ok. Some drivers have been there for years and retire from Swift. Just because someone posts ignorant videos about Swift doesn't mean much. Every company gets a knucklehead every now and then.
Most people that rag on Swift have never worked for them, or even talked to them about working there. Sure you see them do dumb stuff sometimes but considering how many trucks they run, the others megas aren't any better. Probably worse.
Never worked for Swift myself. but I was a CDL instructor for a few years and the biggest complaints I heard from former students at Swift was not enough miles. That was probably about 20 years ago, so it is probably still current...
Was gonna say, there's nothing in the world wrong with Swift nor is there any shame in working there. They're just the favorite whipping boy of some folks. Nothing wrong with Swift.
Bad idea, Swift doesn’t have enough freight, that’s why. My friend has an outside truck leased to them for thirty years. and he told me freight is slow. Most of the freight is going to the outside Owner/ Ops who use the Knight/Swift Logistics load board. Also according to the latest reports on Freight Waves, they’re not doing too well.
