No company I drive for or I will not be driving for that company. Pretty simple really. Have no problem with forward facing cams if they want them but I don't need anyone watching me scratch my rear end..........

Nobody's gonna be watching my ##### while I work. On second thought, that's exactly what they'd be watching.

Just after the camera was live and my notice to quit.

I think those cameras are coming just like the elog and their is no way to stop it except work for a smaller carrier. But eventually everyone will have it. I drive for Abilene and we have them. It doesn't bother me really. Sometimes I forget its there. I don't text and drive or hold the phone and drive either. I guess if you did the camera wouldn't work for u.

for a number of us the companies punishment for having rear-facing dash-cams and watching us should be having to watch us

I'm not saying make them as uncomfortable as possible (I think that's grounds for termination) but make it boring make it as boring as it can be. let them see a TRUE professional at work

which does worry me, if I listen to music they don't like will they fire me? if I listen to political radio that they don't like will they fire me?

Companies would rather spend money on stupid things like cameras in trucks and salaries for people to watch drivers than to actually hire and train safe drivers. Go figure. Again, Book Smart at its finest.

Advice to companies: Cameras only prove what they were doing WHEN the accident occured. If you train them correctly, you will have FAR FEWER ACCIDENTS!!

everyone is against these camera, "No one is going to be watching me while i drive," if you were to actually do the research on these cameras, you would find out several things.

    1. the cameras CAN NOT be accessed remotely at any given time, so they can NOT watch you when they feel like it.

    2. the cameras only record when a critical even occurs, such as hard braking, sudden lane change, ect. Then at that time it only records within set intervals such as ten seconds before and fifteen seconds after.

    3. the cameras upload the data to a THRID PARTY who reviews the information to determine if it was an accident, or just something like a dog running out if front of you. They can evaluate you following distance, ect. If you are driving like a "professional" driver, then you shouldnt have anything to worry about, if your doing wrong, then you need to be informed on how your 80000lb vehicle could possibly kill someone.

so before you go knocking these cameras, you might want to investigate how they REALLY work, because they might just save your job, like they did mine when I was NOT AT FAULT for an accident.
