In-Cab Video Cameras That Watch The Driver!!!!

it was unbelievable that people would submit to such monitoring and control

you have made me a believer

 

i can see it now

$2,750 fine for tampering with the camera

DOT pulls you in the scale, rewinds the tape looking for any infractions, reviews your speed, signal, lane change,
pulls up the voice recorder, listens to your conversations

where will it end?

 

To those who post it to be no problem. Or if your doing your job right you should not mind them. What people do in the truck, whether sleeper or not is no-ones business but their own. If a guy wants to spank it to coin someone elses phrase here,,thats their own thing,,not yours. Furthermore, that is not the issue here. The issue here is privacy in the cab/sleeper. Pull your head out of your behind and look at the real problem. Turn the camera facing out to catch the real problems out here. A lot of drivers would be saved a major headache of the blame game when it comes to accidents.
In the cab cameras watching the driver,,for cripes sake get real.

 

Hell if they ain't gonna watch the xxx rated part I. Don't want it in my cab...

 

i say they need to have sleep monitors, like an EKG test, to make sure you get at least 8hrs of continuous sleep

if you wake up in the middle of the night, it alerts your safety manager and you have to start all over

The company I drive for has such cameras in all there trucks. It faces forward and in the cab. Supposedly for insurance reasons in the case of accidents. At first I didn't like it, but then I asked myself what do I have to hide? If the ignition is off the camera is not on so I have my privacy while in the bunk. As far as putting tape over the camera. If you do that here..... Consider yourself fired.

 

Who is giving up ANY privacy? This is an exception granted for a two year study on 500 trucks. Period. You're most likely not going to be part of the study so its not about you. It has nothing to do with you. You are NOT giving up ANYTHING. Why is that so hard to understand?

 

Your not even a trucker jgremlin,,neither is the other one here. Dont tell truckers how they should feel about it..
We're not giving up anything, why is that so hard to understand you say..we've giving up more then enough with rules and regulations.
