Using it for study? Study for more rules and regulations.

My paycheck and my logbook would disagree with you on that. As would the International cab and a half that is currently parked in my driveway. But I know none of that is going to matter to you so I'll leave it at that and let you believe what you want to believe.

Ah you know what? Enough of this. Its easier to just agree with those who want to be ignorant and paranoid than try to reason with them so you win. The sky is falling. The sky is falling. The sky is falling. This rule change is going to mean live cameras in every truck on the road shooting every driver from every angle so the company can fire the driver the first time he or she takes their eyes off the road for more than 3 seconds. There is NOTHING in the text of the article posted to even remotely suggest that but why let that stop us? Lets all get our panties in a bunch over this because the only possible outcome is more regulations that are only intended to make our lives miserable. Oops I'm sorry, YOUR lives. Because I'm not a driver and that truck just drove itself to my driveway.

Tell ya what. I'll bookmark this thread so I can come back and bump it in a couple of years. That way when the sky really has fallen and there are cameras shooting every driver on the road, you can feel all smug with your bad self and point out to all the world how wrong I was. But on the off chance that by some strange miracle, there aren't cameras in every truck or even anyone seriously talking about them, you have to come back and tell me I was right. What'd ya say? Do you feel lucky?

Why mislead people? When the thing on your profile asks for "trucker?", answer it.

And what would that prove? Anyone can put anything they want in that box. Yours says 10 years. Is it really 10 years? Or is it 1 year? How do we know you're not lying? We don't. We can only go on what you post and judge for ourselves. Leaving the box blank doesn't change that.

Cuz drivers usually have pride in the years they have put into this. And there is no problem with that.

From what I've seen on this forum, putting a number in that box causes as many problems as it solves. I have seen people make very well reasoned and sound comments. But because they never updated their number from years ago when they joined the forum as a student, some boneheads will brush off everything they say and put them down as a noob who doesn't know what they're talking about because they're only a student. The fact that this person hasn't been a student in 5 years doesn't matter to them. All that matters is the number in that box. I prefer to avoid that and to force people to regard my comments on their own merits rather than prejudging based on a number that may or may not be accurate. It my choice. Whether anyone else agrees with it isn't my concern.

Well... Maybe I shouldn't be listening to somebody who wants to lecture me about drivers being dishonest and the federal government is an equal to the Holy Bible.

    Have fun with that...

i wonder where some of you guys priority lies when it comes to your dignity and privacy? you have computers to tell you to go to bed, and you love that

and you have governed trucks that tell you how fast you can go, and you love that

and you have cameras facing you and watching your every move, and you love that

what would it take for you to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH? or do not have any limits?
