Pretty much what the title says.
Down on my luck.
Need to start over. Have clean record and limited funds.
Im open to where i can go.
Id love to find an Honest place that doesn't
screw you after they pay for you training and make you sign a contract
to work for them for a year and treat you like crap....
Also can go to school and then go find employment either way???
any words of wisdom?
thanks all

Just because you sign a contract, doesn't mean you're getting the shaft.
The trucking company isn't making money if the truck isn't turning miles. It in no way benefits the trucking company to let you sit, just because they can. If you're turning the miles, then you're making money and so is the trucking company.
If you can do it, then attend a private cdl school that's a minimum of 160 hours and while in school, get all the endorsements so you're more marketable for a larger number of companies.
Where are you in California?
If you want to get started more quickly, look at company cdl school:
Jim Palmer Trucking
Prime Inc.
Stevens Transport
All these will get the job done. Jim Palmer and Prime have an almost identical pay scale. Stevens pay isn't as good, but the training is excellent and as good as Jim Palmer or Prime. All three companies have excellent trucks, set up for driver comfort.Last edited: Jun 20, 2018

Try Morning Starin Los Banos. They haul tomatoes They'll train you, give you housing. Just have to work for the season, 3-4 months. You can get CDL, make and save money, and move on

Just looking for a good deal for me. Just looking for straight deal. willing to travel if a place is willing to pay for some basics while training me but I'm not just looking for a hand out either just trying to find the best overall deal as far as saving some badly needed funds.
I heard there are companies that pay your CDL training if you work for them for a bit -
