I'm in my last week of schooling with CRST and have heard some roomers about having problems getting hired on with other companies if you don't work out with CRST. I would just like to know what others know about this or your opinions, I have four kids at home so can't wait too much longer for a paycheck and need to know my options.

Sure now you worry about where's your next check coming from..You should have thought about this long before attending any school. You're not going to be able to support 4 kids on a newbys trucker salary.Of course you're going to have trouble finding work elsewhere.CRST will put on your dac, unhireable under CRST contract.Sorry sweety but you better stick it out with CRST for a yr.

Why are you worried about it not working out already? Seems to be a negative attitude and you haven't even really started yet.

Ok alot of jerk answers, so i'll try and help out

Once you get out with your trainer, just give it your all. Soak all the info in like a sponge. Be sure not to come off as a know it all or unteachable.

When you get your own truck and hit the road. Just be safe, but drive hard. You want your higher ups knowing your willing to work and you don't cry about a bad load. Same as any other career, Just show you are a hard working, and can be counted on. Try to solve any issues as peacefully as possible.

Now if things dont work out. You want to atleast finish paying off your school and get enough time on the road to not have to go out with a trainer at your next company. IF you decide to quit, do it right. Give them notice, Turn in your truck at the yard you got it from, take pictures of the truck from a distance, showing where it is at, and close up to prove no damages. Then make sure you get something signed that your truck was returned. (this will help save your dac)

Honestly this is really no different then any other job, Respect and hard work is all you need.

Excellent advice but shes with a team company and I think shes under a yr contract for attending their school. But real good advice though that I can relate to.I was told by dispatchers,im their favorite because i dont compain about where the load is going.I see it this way,it's just load the cust needs their produdt. Why complain about it,you're going to have to take it anyway.I can't remeber ever being late due to my error.
