Alright, so i've been with my current company for a year and a half. My hours have slowly been dropping due to losing accounts and not really gaining any new ones. I work for a small company, just 2 truck drivers and 1 box truck driver. Currently, i make $13 an hour. Started at 12 a year and a half ago with no experience. My problem is that im almost down to 40 hours a week, and at $13 an hour its making it very hard to pay my mortgage, insurance, etc...
I have 4 months until i turn 21 and can be more "marketable" to other companies. My dad retired from con-way freight after 21 years there, and im currently training a box truck driver who retired from the same con-way terminal after 22 years. Id like to get into LTL freight, and id like to start with con-way. Ive talked to a couple of there driver's when i've seen them out on the road, and i know they hire often. Both my dad and the other retired driver said there might be a chance i could get on either as a dock worker right now, and it gives them time to train me with the handheld scanner, loading freight, etc. Maybe even shuffle trailers around the yard. I will get my hazmat when i turn 21 and i already have my doubles/triples. My closing question is, do any other drivers have any advice on any other companies i can work my way in with for 4 months until i can drive out of state.
I appreciate any help!
In need of some advice...

id say just stick it out and get a "normal" part time job to add to your income

Dang, you're a homeowner at age 20 ?

I'd say hang in there, imo the less previous jobs you show on a job app shows stability and makes you look more desirable.
If you take a new job now then apply to Con Way in 4 months why should they think you won't quit them in 4 months? -
Yeah, thats what i figured. I appreciate all the help. and yes im a homeowner at 20. its alot cheaper then renting a house!
