Greetings all. I'll start with a heartfelt thanks to all who take the time to share knowledge here. I live in the upper peninsula of michigan and have had issues finding a good company to start out with that hires out of my area. I'm looking for a company that provides training, Does not require more than a 12 month contract, will allow me to bring home around 800 a week after taxes, and treats drivers with basic respect. I don't have a family to support so staying out 4 to 6 weeks at a time is no issue. I'm 30 so I am not a child, I know how to work hard, respect those I work with and be a professional. I have been looking at Roehl. All suggestions are welcome. Third party training is not doable right now. Thanks in advance.

That's a major freight lane for companies that run into Ontario. Got any felonies, DUI, assault charges, back child support?

    updem Thanks this.

$800/wk from a training company is a tall order. The only two that I can think of that will even approach that are Prime and Roehl.

To get the kind of miles you need each week, you'll need to prove to your manager that you *will* perform. Basically, take everything that they give you (without complaint), keep the door shut, and deliver on-time 100% of the time.

Remember, in trucking, if you arrive early, you're on time. If you arrive on time, you're late.
