Just as mentioned, cover your butt. No matter what your "trainer"says, it isn't her cdl or her career at stake. No matter what others say, if you can't work within the clock, you should not be driving.

Pinching time can be bad in that you will be more prone to running recap hours the next week. You want to burn up the clock, preferably driving, so you can stop and reset. Get a reset and run good and not worry about being stuck with what you did last "week".
Running on recap is lazy planning I think. They just look at how many hours you have and give you a load that you can do in that time. Wash rinse repeat, bleh. So if you have crap hours you will get a crap run. If you can run out of hours and get nothing comming back for a few days you can reset and run better the next "week".Another Canadian driver, BeN DaViS and RoadRacer Thank this. -
You will see and learn in time, when you look back on this thread in a year. Im telling you right now your going to feel like a total fool. And dont take that wrong, I'm just telling you you will figure out just how ignorant to this industry you were.Another Canadian driver, BeN DaViS, ramblingman and 2 others Thank this. -
So the majority of replies say to falsify your logs. I always said the best advice was here at TTR. I still think it is, but the regulars, the ones with good advice, are not the ones that have posted.
I don't recommend anyone lease from day one because you don't know the business or even the driving part! These replies are telling you to cheat your logs from day one!!! There are too many electronic ways of determining where your truck is and has been to expect to never get caught.
If or when you get caught the trainer will be pretending to be asleep, not that she could get you out of any trouble anyways. You will have a mark on your CDL, the company will cut you loose since you "suck at cheating" and they need to keep their CSA scores down. Now you have to ask some place to hire you as a known cheater. The only places that will do that are going to make you cheat much worse. It won't be fudge a few hours. It will be "run those bald - cords showing tires for another six months". That exhaust leak you can smell in the cab even with the windows open? "We've had much worse. KEEP RUNNING!" No AC in the desert, "None of our trucks have working AC.
Are you tied to this company financially in any way? Did they pay for school etc...?

Did you even read the post? You can't illegally lie to elog software.

There is a really big difference between falsifying and bending. No one is telling anyone to edit line 3. Posts here have been keeping line 4 to a minimum and figure out ways to save time that does not need to be logged. Anyone that comes on here and says they dont edit anything on there logs is eather flat out lieing or works for CR England! If you dont find ways to save time and manage ur logs all you are doing is flat out screwing ur self.Another Canadian driver, BeN DaViS and RoadRacer Thank this. -
It sounds as if alot of this situation is being left out maybe a I really hated my orientation, trainer and this company
