I don't know what service your company uses but I have been on both qualcomm and peoplenet and neither could be edited by driver except for change of duty status. All other changes had to go through a 3rd party. With the exception of logging off and driving as the op just said.

So Mikeeeee why shouldn't you be paid for your time? You know the guy slinging burgers get paid if nobody comes in for an hour, is his time more valuable than yours?

Right? It cost me a lot to fill up random drivers fuel tanks! Nice to be on the opposite end

I am paid for my time.

Salaried the same amount for any day I work. Sitting in traffic or running down the highway. But I won't pad my hours of drive time to get home earlier. And if I am sitting waiting 50 minutes, for some beginner backing, I won't run out my 70 with useless on duty time. I am paid pretty well and support my company for it. At least half of our local drivers have the same attitude. Maybe more...

And if I don't use up my 70 with non-working on-duty time I can work a weekend when I want instead of being forced to do a reset.

I guess it differs by company. One of our drivers had his line 5 taken away, just on his truck, for abusing it. We have a tough log audit dept and also a 3rd party auditor to catch cheating drivers before the feds do!

Ahh!! We do too. . . , the log audit dept is actually the safety guy.. that cat is cruel... but understanding at the same time. he has us staple all the J1 tickets to the logbook and he cross references it between each other to make sure it matches...(THATS IF I PUT THE RAIL AT THE LOG..lol ;))

however - he does this and find mistakes before the dot does in a inspection. he simply gives the log back and says to fix the mistake and turn it in with next weeks envelope.

How much longer with the trainer. Finish it up then do it your way. Don't be so by the book that you can't finish training and then are unemployed.
