It took nearly 3hrs to get washed after a load of palm oil... which solidifies as it cools. The wash worker told me that running the heat for a few hours prior to wash would save time... which makes sense to me and is easy enough to do. However, another driver told me that running heat on an empty tank can cause it to “warp”... is this true? Normal running temp is 170F, but it can get to 210F for short periods going uphill... is that hot enough to damage (warp?) a tank?
I’m new to tanker (food grade) and eager to learn some “tricks of the trade”...

look at the manufacturers plate on the side of the trailer, it will specify max operating temperature. We haul resin heated to 250+ regularly in an insulated 407ss and it doesnt warp anything.

We preheat the trailers, the resin instantly sets up around 200-210.
