I have been driving regional in the northeast for 4 months now and usually work PA, NJ, NY. Sometimes I get sent down to NC, VA or Oh. The issue is where I get assigned a load from a broker to bridge the mile gap between my delivery and a pick up from one of our normal shippers. The current load I have I picked up in Virginia to deliver in NJ I was given a delivery window of 8am to 2pm. I arrived at the consignee at 9am only to be told they don't unload what I have until at least 5pm. Previous broker load I was assigned the product to be shipped wasn't even at the shipper yet it was still a day out. I'm curious if this is normal for broker loads to be so unorganized?
Inaccurate delivery times by brokers normal?

It's a good habit on both shipper and receivers to call ahead to let them know your coming is the shipment ready, or what would be a good time to load or unload.
Also tell me about the VA to NJ load. I might know that oneLepton1, x1Heavy, Omega1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Honestly I did try and do that when I picked this up and all the numbers I was provided were disconnected numbers. I should have expected an issue at the consignee. I'm going to make a habit of that from now on. Would have been a lot happier sleeping in and relaxing at the service station I was at instead of the 8 hours I've been sitting on this side street in jersey

as a new driver (of 4 months like you say), go ahead and go above your dispatcher's head.
let us know how that worked for you. -

failure on your part to notify your company and all BS that'll happen to you, falls squarely on your shoulders, up to and including a reprimand...and too many of those, and you get canned. and most likely DAC'd for several service failures.Gambosa, Lepton1 and GettingRolling Thank this.
