The numbers really be the following:

2015: $2.29 per mile loaded $1.99 per mile all miles. But beings truckers keep believing the prices are so low because of a .16 per mile fuel savings. Yes the market is tighter that is why we are bouncing more to get better freight. Where is the other .25 per mile going? Either in the brokers pockets or the shippers pockets, surely not ours. When the market picks back up we at the ICG are prepared to start swinging our hammers and this time we will be pushing for the rates to exceed $3.00 per mile.

.25 might have just disappeared and been passed on to the customer.

Yep your right NOT!!! Company's were posting all time profits this year in the first two quarters. On the grain side the biggest marketplaces to the world were making a killing while they kept stating that freight prices were lower and lower, as long as truckers believed them vs going online and checking out the truth, they continued to erode the marketplace. It has about his this version of the bottom, as I see the truck and trailer dealerships once again full of equipment that has been repossessed and is just waiting for the next group of suckers.

Prices at the shelves are up so the .25 did not get passed on to the end user as well. The only thing that has went down was the price of fuel due to the glut of it around, and the battle between us and the Middle East on the how low can you go, even they have a minimum that they will not go below. Why do truckers continually haul freight and not make a profit? Breaking even in business is a recipe for failure.

Isn't asking a lease operator their gross before percentage the same as asking a O/O what their gross is before the broker gets his cut?
    Not real useable numbers IMO.

I have gotten to the point that I don't really care anymore. The brokers, and the shippers are about as cheap as they can get, they fail to realize that by driving truckers out of business when they need us again they will really have to pay up the next round.

The Grasshopper eats all the grass and will not last through the winter.
The Ant stores up and survives the winter.
