I prefer steel toe boots, guess I got used to that when a steer would get out of line. I wonder how many drivers would try and run cattle with those flip flops on. It would be kinda funny to see that steer hoof cut off there little piggy's and watch them scream whee whee whee all the way back to Momma's.

I'd be afraid to have open shoes anywhere near the truck regardless of operation, let alone doing livestock! Don't most places require closed toe shoes?

When I was a city kid and first moved to the country, I asked the country boys were I could take a wee at and they pointed me to the fence line by the corner. Imagine my surprise when that tingling feeling came back up through my little wee wee. Boy those boys were just rolling around in the yard splitting their guts from laughing so hard.
Later on when I moved back to the city and they came to visit me it was my turn to laugh when I saw the fear in their eyes when we went to a rough neighborhood in KC. Now that I am back in the country my wife and I have decided that living within 45 miles of the city is more than close enough for us. -
I live in a town with one red light....rush hour is terrible. Yesterday I had to wait at the light for over 1 minute!

That sounds like a pipe dream but I'm all for it. Good luck getting dishonest and desperate people to come on board.

I'm afraid 1% might be a little optimistic. ....

Could be, but if we only improve the quality of life of the members that join us, that will in return start to impact the industry. Maybe that is a little too optimistic, but better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all. I remember a private telling me that he was to afraid to scale the wall. I asked him how would he know unless he tried, we went up the wall together and he succeeded. When we got on the other side I asked him how he now felt? He stated that he now understood what I was always saying, better to try vs not trying at all. Most in our society today believe that others owe them something for nothing. They would rather it be taken away from those that have earned it and given to them in return, what a crock. This is not what we are looking for we are looking for those that believe that hard work deserves a good reward.
