I won't be local much longer...those sons of b!tches want you working 7 days a week with very little rest for s*** pay. What the hell is the point of being close to home if you're never gonna be there and you're not making squat in the process? Screw that noise...I'll headed back to the road very soon

Got sent to PA because they didn't have anything local when I talked to joy...told Chris yesterday that I wouldn't be in Carlisle until 1 or 2 this afternoon...so what does she do...sends me a preplan for an 11am spruce creek load. I swear to god she has to be one of the most worthless people I have ever known IN MY LIFE

Paid slaves there at IRT -
I've never been one to make decisions based entirely on hearsay, I would rather experience something for myself and make a judgment call accordingly. I'm also man enough to admit when a mistake has been made, and going regional was a mistake. Live and learn. That is all.

Sometimes you go with your gut thinking it is a good fit for "you" even though others complained and learn that it wasn't. No wrong in that. You have to find your notch and when you do, you will be happy with it no matter what anyone says... Been there, done that!

I remember running side by side wuth some southpointe drivers out of Americold in Atlanta going to Publix in Deerfield Beach, FL. Thise were some fun trips back then. It was a temporary dedicated thing for both of our companies until we both got the boot and Prime took it over. I miss some those days of real trucking and hard running.
I moved here to Orlando in '99 and IRT was always known. I got off the truck in 2010 to twist wrenches and they are pretty well known on that side as well. Never really heard complaints about them from either side. Nothing too bad. They just seem like any other carrier out there. Just no docks with lumpers to worry about. I think that is what makes them happier.
My neighbor drives for them and always has good things to say about them. He has been with them since I moved to my curent place in 2007. Not sure how much longer prior to that. I never asked. He likes them and seems to be doing good. His kids are fed, his wife was put through school, they have nicer cars, seem to be your all around american dream family. He loves the road life and I guess that can make a difference, not sure. You can only give them a shot and see how they work out for "you."
