Thanks topcat, I am going to love learning a new aspect of the industry. Vans and reefers has just gotten so old, a long with all those Wally World and Sams Club DCs. Not to mention the paper places. ugh! Figure I can use this experience to move on to chem tankers or what not, at a future date. Hopefully in the far future if this works out as well as I think it will! Mind if I PM you about some things?

No not at all. I'm a O/O now with my own authority pulling a reefer and love it.

Did you already start? How much do they pay per mile? How fast is the truck?

I have heard .35cpm loaded and empty, then I heard .38cpm loaded and empty. I have heard the trucks go 65 to start, then if you keep your idle down they go to 68, then up to 73. I will not really know the exact facts until I get there Tuesday. Some told me they have gps, fridges, and inverters. Hell, I will find out and let you all know. That is what this thread is going to be about. I do love the fact that they are on paper logs, which already has been confirmed. But we are not paid for detention, so that kinda sucks. Creative logging should help out with the mileage though. I will give you all the details once I know them. Sifting through the long thread that exists already about them in very tedious.

FSU, just an observation... you are here in a public forum telling everyone pretty blatantly that you are willing to "cheat" on logs, run "however you need to" to make it work etc.... Probably NOT what I would want to read if I were from IRT, or anywhere else to be honest... We all know how to do it, that its done everyday, DOT included of course, but NO ONE should be going around boasting that they will be doing it....No need informing everyone what illegal things we or you will be doing... just my humble opinion, but if I was safety from IRT you would not be coming to orientation ever... KWIM??? Oh and if you think they (safety personnel) don't cruise these threads, you'd be wrong...

I never said I would cheat. In fact, I have a teammate coming, why would I want to cheat? There are more benefits to being on paper than just being able to cheat the computer. And, just because the logs are creative does not make them illegal.

For one example, my pretrip lasts say, 22 mins, depending on when I started and finished, it could be logged as 15 mins and save me a few mins there. This gives me ample time to get out of the lot, and up to speed by the time my 30 min mark is actually up. Say my post trip lasts 6 mins, that can be flagged off duty since it is not 7 mins worth of work, etc, etc, These are just 2 of many examples that are actually LEGAL, and cannot work on e logs.

EDIT: I know it is not much, but those minutes add up over the course of a week :) I am always safe, they can pull all my inspections if they would like.

For the record for anyone questioning it. I drive 100% legal, 100% of the time. I can see how my comments may have been misconstrued by the way they were written. I apologize for not being able to properly express, in words, what I am trying to describe. My communications skills are much better in person. Thanks!
