Then explain layover or breakdown pay? -
-
Pay is way too complex to just make a blanket statement of such and such a CPM equals such and such an Hourly Rate. Lots of local jobs may only be 50/50 "driving"/"on duty not driving" due to loading and unloading and other factors. And there are plenty of OTR jobs which are drop and hook, keep those tires turning.
It would be more useful to compare an average day's gross between the two types of driving. That is where you can make the argument about whose pay is better. And then we can argue about the relative value of home time and regular schedules and what is the best truck stop pizza and how to make a right turn.gentleroger and Toomanybikes Thank this. -
break down is on duty not driving.
this is common sense not rocket science. -
Now if you would put that mental agility to actually thinking and not digging in your hills on being so wrong.
Oh well, at least it's amusing to see what you can come up wih.
And btw, how is layover reimbursement for a hotel, when one stays in the sleeper?
How is breakdown on duty if it's in the shop 10 miles away, while you are in a hotel? (hint, it's off duty then)
You also missed the pay for the 34....
Also, since I'm getting paid, I'm guessing my vacation should be on-duty? I get paid for that.
Heck, going to the doctor would be on-duty since the company pays for insurance.
Or if I take a sick day, is it all 24 hours I should be on-duty, or just whatever my average shift length is?spyder7723, gentleroger and ChaoSS Thank this.
