    Hi TR Forum,

What time of the year is the busiest in the trucking industry? What time of the year is the best time to apply for work as a truck driver? What part of the US has the most trucking jobs please?

    Thanks,

    Shadow.

Any time can be good to get into trucking and there's no bad time to get out either! Slow times depend on what equipment you pull. Trash haulers/fuel tankers/refeer's stay about the same all year. Flats will slow down in winter, vans it all depends on the econemy.

Right now is the beginning of the busy season. From now until the day after Xmas. Now is the time to run as hard as you can and stay out as long as you can. Gotta get it while its good! Most drivers will take their home time in January when the freight slows. Its also a good time to get into trucking if you are new because it should start snowing out west in the next week or so. This will give you time behind the wheel with your trainer in some winter driving before it gets too bad!

The cows get milked twice a day all year round. So the milk trucks run the same all year round. Finding milk work with zero experience might be a challenge though. In fact, finding any kind of tanker work with zero experience will probably be a challenge.

    Thanks JGremlin,

I'm sure driving a tanker takes skill so a surge doesn't push the rig into an intersection upon braking or not flipping the truck by cornering to fast on a hill truck-crash-hiring.jpg , etc. Therefore, are there any trucking jobs for someone fresh out of CDL school with no experience, you would suggest please?

    Thanks,

    Shadow
