Info needed please
I cant find the info anywhere.
I have a full UK licence and I know I'm allowed to drive in the USA for upto a year before a test needed,
I'm travelling to the US in a few months and I need to know if I am allowed to drive a stake bed truck(ford 250) with a 35 foot trailer , the trailer was a horse box that has been converted.
Please can someone point me in the right direction as being on hold to the AAA for 15 minutes plus (from England) cost me a fortune.
Regards baker
info needed please on US driving regulations

I think to drive a CMV in the states you need to be licensed in the states. Your UK license may be OK to drive a passenger car for a year, but I doubt even that.
On the F-250, that's a pick-up truck with no special license needed, even with the trailer. (no air brakes) Official residency will play into it also. As in, will you be a visitor or take up official residency ? -
You also need to keep in mind your visa status, if you are getting paid you will need a work visa rather than a tourist visa.

You can drive in the US with a UK lic for a short time but I wouldn't risk it long term. You haven't stated whether you plan to stay. As an ex- pat from the UK, I went and got my US lic pretty quickly, when I arrived way back. It wasn't a big deal and easy to get. Knowing what the cops are like in the US, you may have some explaining to do when you're pulling such a trailer with a "foreign" licence.
And to answer the question of "visas" there's no such thing when it comes to UK/US relations. You don't need any kind of visa, but in order to work legally in this country, you have to apply for a " Green Card" which is very difficult to get these days unless you have a unique skill.
