Anyone have an idea of what their hiring area is? And for that matter, where do they really operate outside of Canada? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Give them a call. I considered them a few years ago, and talked to them. Typical Canadians as far as I can say. They sent me all sort of stuff including a CD IIRC. They would still be a consideration of mine.:yes2557:

Hm, dunno if calling them would charge me somehow. I'll figure it out. I applied to them but me living in Georgia will likely keep me from being considered.

Ya, I can't say anything about Ga, but the girl I talked to didn't think there was a problem for me. You have to remember, Canada has a different set of labour laws than the US. From what I understand, lying is frowned on there, and not fashionable as here, so I tended to believe what she told me. Just a couple thoughts.
You're a long way from the border, but there is a division, I think you could call it that, MCX in the Detroit area. I'm not entirely sure there either, but those guys drive Challenger coloured trucks, same make and model, but it seems I heard they were contractors, I could easily be wrong, but your phone is pretty handy when your miles away.:biggrin_25525:

Not faulting you at all, but being a student, why do you want to drive for a Canadian company? I will say as well, I was a border jumper for some time, and always enjoyed my time in Ca.

Always wanted to go to Canada, honestly. Since Challenger hires 21 year olds, it's one of the few companies I've seen that does so and that was a plus for me. Figured I'd just give them a shot. What do I have to lose? Just the 5 minutes it takes to fill out the application.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I'd still give them a call before even filling out an app. My cell is programmed for Ca. and the US, so I can't say how much a call may cost you, but you might be pleasantly surprised.:biggrin_25525:

Well, I do have Vonage for the house phone. Might just use that.

That will work, a regular landline does as well, just dial the number.:biggrin_255:

Are you asking me? The recruiter asked me if I could legally work in Ca. Since I already was, I answered yes. It's no different than a Canadian working in the US. I think there is a sponsorship, if that's the correct term. I don't recall the whole conversation, but Challenger was ready to take me. I don't think they would say they could, if they couldn't.
As far as I know, the interstating laws apply, but I'd think they have enough cross-border freight that it shouldn't be a problem.:biggrin_25519:
I'm thinking of calling them now just to find out about the "sponsorship".

    bulldozerbert Thanks this.
