Today, my employer I work for informed me that Sygma does our deliveries from our TX DC. I will not list my employer unless asked by a driver. I have a couple of questions for any Sygma drivers and/or employees:

Do the drivers team drive or solo?
Do you get delivery preferences to certain areas?
    What is the pay?

These questions depend on which Terminal you work at.

I worked out of the Columbus Ohio terminal. Routes there are mostly team. Some are single man and some are with 1 driver and a "helper". The helper doesn't drive, he just helps unload.

You'll be on the extra board to start, so you'll drive any route that needs you until you can bid on your own route. I believe they bid on routes every 3 or 6 months.

You get paid by the mile and you also get paid by the "piece". Meaning every piece of freight you throw, you get paid for. The pay scale is wierd so maybe someone else can explain it better.

Other than that, good luck because it's a very physically demanding job. You drive at night most all the time, which wouldn't be bad if you didn't have to bust your buns throwing all those boxes... and yes, most all of the guys I worked with literally THREW the boxes at me. When I asked them to quit they'd get all mad because they wanted to stay on schedule.

3 in the morning, freezing cold 20 degree weather, driving tired, getting bruses up and down my arms from boxes being thrown at me... not the job for me, but many of the guys there seem to enjoy it.

Well I head off to school in January or June of next year and I am exploring all the good companies. What equipment do they run?

Volvo 10 speeds with sleeper for out of town runs. Volvo 8 speed day cabs for local and 1 man runs.
