I declined my job offer at CTI orientation (only person there) once they told me how much my insurance would be for me and my child $25 health $5 dental a week (driver only) no matter if u add 1 child or a family the cost goes up to $185 health $15 dental =$200 a week/$800 a month u must run over 8000 miles a month(no problem) to be eligible for benefits sure they'll pay u .43cpm but you'll have to run even harder just to recoup the insurance payment what if u break down or run into bad weather that $200 is deducted regardless this isn't my first trucking job my average insurance cost for me and my child is around $80 a week that's what I'm paying now CTI thanks but no thanks!!!!

Talked to one of their recruiters today about the relay position. From what it sounded, the pay started at .40/mile, but you pretty much worked as much as you wanted and then you could take a short or long break and come back to work without any consequence apart from a slip-seat(I don't live in the truck, so I don't really care).
I'm kind of deciding between this kick-back sounding kind of work, and the higher paying, yet more discipline oriented arena of a line-haul like ODFL.
