They probably also use the same technology as the cop cars and repo people in addition to regular cameras: those camera-like things on the trunk lid that are constantly reading license plates and cross-referencing stolen-vehicle (or bank loan default) databases in real time. Powerful stuff.

 

yeah they can put simple electronic tag on the windshield of your truck. install transponders on every 20-40 miles of highways and that's it.

 

We already have license plate, they read that. Just another revenue stream, out of my pocket.

Simple anwer. .I dont know. What you mention bothers me as well. One day I will own my own truck (s). That extra cost while small will still be a hit to that bottom line. One thingis certain though. This industry is changing and at an ever increasing pace. To survive, one will need to adapt.

We don't have parking meters or meter maids anymore. If you park you enter your vehicle information in a kiosk on the street in the zone (block) or parkade, or there is an app. The database is automatically updated and they just cruise the streets with this unit. They don't have to stop to issue a ticket; it is all processed on-the-fly.
