Searched his truck without asking any permission
Cop went through everything, said he was looking for food and fuel receipts.
    Yeah, right
Anyway, cop threatened to write the driver up for not having food receipts
    Wtf
Driver is on elogs and doesn't get fuel receipts.

Not just cameras at scales anymore. Plenty along the side of the road that you don't notice.

PA on i80, 24 yard stick there's one on both sides.

AL on i85 north, after x16 there's a camera that'll take your picture. Noticeable at night.

NC i77 north, think it was after x22, on right just as soon as you go under the overpass.

SC i85 north, after x for Duncan there's another one of your right.

I pass 3 along 30EB across Indiana. Most are all triggered when you hit the sensors in the right lane. Some don't recognize the left lane. Going north on 85 in GA after x for 165, the overhead scale signs don't register if you're in the left lane, whether it's open or closed.

Sadly you can avoid all the scales and port of entries, but these cameras are all over the place...

That's easy, so you cant say you didn't know you were breaking the law when they make a case against you. They use their system to catch you and your system to convict you.

I would stop at a post office in Gallop NM and mail all my receipts home. The AZ poe was calling to the Moriaty TA asking what time a certain driver fueled. they would place the call on hold, after 30 minutes AZ poe would hang up and call back again and get put on hold again. TA said it was none of their business what time someone fueled.

It happened to me too. It was on I-17 - Camp Verde Area. He did not like that I showed driving straight for 6 hours without stopping from El Centro, CA which was not that extreme. He told me he had to search my truck for weapons and illegal substance. He did grab a few loose receipts gladly though. I asked him whether any warrant was needed. He told me no, just showing me some copy of a case summary from NY where the state judge ruled that a CMV could be subjected to searches at the law enforcement discretion. He told me to leave the truck and wait outside. What was I supposed to do, wrestle with him? And at the very beginning of my career, same thing in IA except the men wearing a round hat just entered the cab without saying hello.

P.S. The I 17 has the cameras at the first Rest Area north of Camp Verde. The AZ HP over there has a "trucker friendly" reputation. I do prefer taking a shortcut via Payson, less traffic and them less too.

Probably the same way they do camera controlled redlights? They send the citation to the company and the company deals with the driver.

It's really gotten bad in az
Especially down on 10 and 8
Searching seems the be the standard procedure
I was in the J at Yuma a couple weeks ago and a trooper just randomly pulled a guy in off the freeway and went through everything
    On a Sunday!
    The driver tried to protest
The trooper seemed to enjoy that
Doesn't seem as bad up on 40

Thats why I travel the back roads and stay off the big road. Haven't had a dot inspection in probably 20 years. Yes My trk and trl would pass a level one.

Wrong. You can thank the large companies part of the ATA for this. It's the new business way in America.

Don't worry about offering a superior service just make it more expensive
for your competition by sticking the government on them.

Obamacare, ELD's, Speed limiters, all designed to make it harder and more expensive for the small businesses to stay in business.

Pretty soon the one million dollar bond for having your authority is going to be raised to $2-4 million.
