Of ALL the companies out there, WS has a great reputation...Is it perfect, of course not, but for a trucking company, it may be as close as you can get...

Dave runs into the same thing every day, most all drivers he talks with are pretty dissatified with the company too.
There are only a very small portion of W/S drivers that are even on this forum or I'm sure that you would read alot more negative about them -
I'll answer this:
Your and East Coast Regional Driver
You spend your time on the East Coast at the East Coast Terminals with all the other East coast drivers
All new drivers hired on the east side stay east on the regional side.
Most truck drivers HATE the east coast with a passon
Most drivers dont enjoy LTL, They my like the money but not the work.
Most drivers arent cut out for trucking, only 2% of people that get into trucking are still in it a year later
So out of the 275 drivers based out of Conover ALLOT of them are new, stay in the east and do mainly LTL.....hmmmm gee why might they be in a bad mood sometimes....Talk to drivers in RED trucks, the O/O's, the TEAMS, and the Flatbedders and most are VERY happy. The penski drivers can be hit or miss just because of the type of work they do and that most are new. I've talked to a good 50+ EC guys and most of which were new, some were not very happy and wanted to leave and some did. The ones that stuck it out and got a system worked out and learned to truck and are still here talk to them now...they enjoy it.
Talk to the local drivers, short line, dedicated drivers....all happy.
There is your answer, start asking how long they've been driving after you ask how they like it here, keep track of both numbers and then in a few weeks look at your numbers you'll see what i mean.

Another thing I wondered about is that if you have 15 years experience, I would not think trip planning (taking responsibility) and getting a 53' truck in occasional tight spots would not be that big of a deal.
Also, you knew what the pay scale was before you went there. All I can say about that is I know for a fact that there are W/S drivers on here making $5000 to $10,000 more per year than I am making so it can't be all that bad. -
W/S has somewhere between 750-800 Trucks + O/O's
